오픈리서치트립 l 길이없는땅(수정만, 금란도, 거북섬, 온산국가공업단지)

이탈로 칼비노의 소설 『보이지 않는 도시들』에서 마르코 폴로는 황제 칸에게 그동안 다녔던 도시들에 대해 말합니다. 성 바깥으로 한 번도 나가보지 못한 황제 칸이 마르코 폴로의 이야기만으로 듣고 세운 도시는 어떤 모습일까요? 모아진 환상이 그대로 실현된다면 그것이 곧 환상적인 아름다움일 수 있을까요. 오픈리서치트립에서 우리는 황금알을 낳는 풍요의 땅이라고 불리는 금란도(충청남도 서천군)와 미래산업을 대표하는 수상 레저의 도시이자 캐릭터 해로의 주 무대 거북섬(경기도 시흥시), 겨레와 국가 발전을 위한 인공 심장 온산국가산업단지(울산광역시)에 이어 바다를 매립해서 만든 땅 수정만(경상남도 창원시)으로 향합니다.

In Italo Calvino's novel 『The Invisible City』, Marco Polo tells the Emperor Khan about a city he visited. What would it look like if Emperor Khan, who had never been outside his castle, built a city based solely on Marco Polo's story? If the collected fantasies were to become reality, would there be a fantastical beauty unfold? The open research trip takes us to Geumlando (Seocheon, Chungcheongnam-do), a land of plenty where golden eggs are laid; Turtle Island (Siheung- Gyeonggi-do), a city of water leisure representing future industries and the main stage of character boats; Onsan National Industrial Complex (Ulsan Metropolitan City), an artificial heart for competition and national development; and Sujeongman Bay (Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do), a land made by reclaiming the sea.
